Aston Villa 2-0 Everton
Aston Villa grabbed their first Premier League win since their promotion against Everton in the first game of the week. Moraes scored in the 21st minute and held off Everton to then eventually score the winner in the 95th minute through El Ghazi. Tyrone Mings and McGinn provided the assists.
Norwich City 2-3 Chelsea
The early game provided arguably some of the best entertainment of the night. Tammy Abraham scored a neat finish in the 3rd minute but it was quickly canceled out by Todd Cantwell thanks to a Pukki assist. Mason Mount then scored a nice finish but Chelsea’s lead was once again taken away by Teemu Pukki. Norwich looked like holding out for a draw but Abraham scored his second in the 68th minute.
Brighton 0-2 Southampton
Southampton controlled the game and got their first win of the season. Andone was sent off in the 30th minute after a horrific challenge on Valery. Djenepo scored a lovely finesse in the 55th and Redmond secured the win in the 90th.
Man United 1-2 Crystal Palace
The most entertaining fixture of the night had all you could want in a football match! Jordan Ayew put Palace in front just after half an hour. Palace defended well until the 69th minute where McTominay was taken down. Up step Marcus Rashford who MISSED the spot-kick! The game looked to be over until Daniel James stood-up and scored a terrific curler into the top right of the goal. With the game dead and buried a last minute Palace counter resulted in an unlikely hero of Patrick Van-Aanholt to make it 2-1!
Watford 1-3 West Ham
Mark Noble converted an early penalty but it was canceled out by Andre Gray in the 17th, The game stayed 1-1 until a 10-minute brace (including a bicycle kick) from new-signing Sebastian Haller to win the game for West Ham 3-1.
Sheffield United 1-2 Leicester City
Jamie Vardy put away a fantastic chance created by James Maddison last into the first half to give the Foxes a 1-0 lead going into HT. McBurnie equalized in the 62nd but a fantastic hit from Harvey Barnes won Leicester the game.
Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal
Liverpool continued their Anfield dominance over Arsenal with a convincing win over the Gunners. Joel Matip scored the header to put the Reds ahead at half time. The Egyptian King lived up-to his name with first goal came from a penalty given away by David Luiz and a fantastic run started from a Fabinho pass gave him his second. Liverpool remain the only team to win all their games.
Bournemouth 1-3 Man City
A scuffed shot from De Bruyne resulted in an assist for Aguero to get his first for the night. Sterling than made it 2-0 late in the half. A phenomenal free-kick and goal of the season contender from Harry Wilson gave the Cherries a lifeline but it was short-lived once Aguero put the nail in the coffin just after the hour mark.
Tottenham 0-1 Newcastle
The Toon had no hopes going into this game but new signing Joelinton gave Newcastle the lead in the 27th. Spurs pretty much dominated the rest of the game with a couple VAR penalty checks not going in Spurs’ favour. Newcastle ended up holding off Tottenham for a crucial 3 points.
Wolves 1-1 Burnley
Another goal of the season contender came from Ashley Barnes just after 10 minutes after he flicked the ball up and volleyed the ball from outside the box, beating Rui Patricio, This looked like the only goal of the game as Wolves were struggling to find the back of the net and came close after hitting the post in the 94th minute. But a late, late penalty gave Raul Jimenez the equalizing goal to somehow rescue a point!
