Olympia’s winger Madi Chambers has signed on to leave the Warriors at season’s end and will make the switch to move to Alabama State Hornets for 2021. With 74 goals to her name over three seasons both in Southern Championship and WSL, Chambers will leave a big impression on the Women’s Super League after winning last year’s best and fairest along with the Players MVP award. Throw in the 2019 golden boot and it was a campaign to remember.
2019 was a breakout season for Chambers. Even as a winger Chambers scored 18 goals last year in the WSL. Although Olympia had to settle for runners up in the league, Chambers truely left her mark on the 2019 season.

Chambers was also Football Tasmania’s player of the 2019 NTC Challenge but keep in mind that tournament was Chamber’s third time in the NTC in the U17s level, having played with the U15s and U17s in 2017. Tying in with this, Chambers was also called into the Junior Matildas for a training camp in Sydney.

Chambers will also be the 6th player to sign on with Alabama in recent years and will hope to have the same accomplishments that other players like Shelbi Vienna-Hallam and Anastasia McCleary had with the US side.
Chambers will be playing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Hornets’ last success was winning the 2016 and 2017 championships.
Chambers will continue to play out the WSL/Statewide Cup season with Olympia for 2020 but her departure will leave a big gap at the Eastern Shore club. But with silver wear still up for grabs Chambers and Olympia could still finish the year with a trophy or two.
Congratulations Madi and good luck!
