Traditionally the Summer Cup has been played by Southern NPL teams but Launceston City and Riverside will enter the fray this time round. City's inclusion is their first since 2017 while Riverside will have their first crack. NPL TAS Champions Devonport Strikers will not be in the comp. Perhaps their mind games ahead of the season.
Women's football is back for 2021 in Tasmania with the return of the Women's Summer Cup in late February. Fixtures have now been released on Football Tasmania's roster portal and are subject to change.

Controversy was the main word spelt at Football Tasmania today with the news that South Hobart had breached rule s1.12 of the 2020 Statewide Cup Rules in their Lakoseljac Cup quarter-final 3-2 victory over Kingborough last Sunday.
